"I have profound hearing loss as a result of a diving accident in 2005. Upon the retirement of my previous audiologist, I approached ‘Alton Hearing Care’ (with whom I have no personal or business connection). I took my pair of Phonak V90’s. These are 7 years old because I was in denial and good at bluffing for a long time. I thought I was getting age related degeneration, but Terry quickly identified that NEITHER hearing aid was working. As an initial step he suggested they should be serviced. It was quite possible they would not be repairable. Return was projected at 2 weeks.
They were repaired, and returned in full working order within 4 days!! Well done Phonak.
Despite this I realised that my need was critical. I cannot survive without them, thus I decided to buy new as well and keep the V90’s as a spare. Terry tested my hearing (or lack of it).
My new aids arrived in one week and OMG what a difference. The Phonak P90’s have vastly improved Bluetooth compatibility, better wind noise and feedback suppression. They are smaller and better designed. I am genuinely impressed. I had sound bars for the TV and could only use my mobile for text. Now I can use them, effectively gaining fully interactive hands free use of the TV, mobile and I pad when out and about or in the car….the mobile only! They can be tweaked by an app (which is not so good). My family no longer need ear defenders.
I could have bought these same aids from the internet for less, but with personal care, extended warranty, FREE extras, including 120 batteries, wax removal for 3 years and Free consultations, the extra cost was more than worth it. I can now communicate without everyone wanting to strangle me.
Terry and Sian, both hear well, but more importantly they listen. I have no hesitation in recommending their service not least because it is polite and holistic. Their premises are also clean, convenient and compact. Sad I know but I actually enjoy going! Thank you so much."
